General interface settings

Configure Open Recent:

Most document-based applications have the item "Open Recent" in the file menu. In the menu the applications document history can be viewed. The "Open Recent" menu can be configured system-wide. You can enable and disable the menu as well as set the number of recent documents to show.

Place scroll arrows:

Display of sheets:

A sheet is a dialog which is attached to a window, an example is the save dialogs. A sheet is presented with an animation of the window appearing at the top and folding down until in position. The speed of the animation can be set here.

When application crash:

Mac OS X can be set to one of the following three different behaviors for when an application crashes:

By default Mac OS X displays the "Unexpectedly Quit" dialog.

Use expanded Save dialogs by default

By default Save dialogs are displayed in collapsed mode. By clicking the triangle button one can expand the dialogs for further settings. Every application remembers if you have expanded the dialog and will present the dialog in the same mode you left it. This setting enables the expanded mode by default. From now on, every app will use the large Save dialogs by default - with the exception of any program where you might have used the Save dialog and quit with it in the small state; you'll have to set those manually.

Do not keep Help window on top of all other windows

For this setting to take place a logout is required.

Screenshot file format:

The compressed image file format PNG is the default screenshot format. Mac OS X can be set to use a number of different file formats. One can also set a where you want the screenshots to be saved. The following image file formats is available:
