User cache

User cache is cache created by Mac OS X as well as applications but belongs to the user. User cache is either ColorSync, Dock, font, Java or QuickTime cache. ColorSync is built into Mac OS X and are used to calibrate your screen colors. Caches related to font handling such as names of font files and character encoding are divided into subgroups "Adobe System Incorporated", "Microsoft Corporation", "Quark, Incorporated". Font cache can become corrupt which lead to problems. Erasing the font cache can solve font related problems. Dock cache is related to the Dock and can be erased to solve problems with Dock icons. Java cache is cache created when running a Java applet in a browser, with Java Web Start or as an application. QuickTime cache is cache of QuickTime movies viewed online. QuickTime's cache size can be set in QuickTime.
